Audio Player not working

I’ve been using cornerstone for awhile now. Recently I notice audio isn’t working. When I copy in the URL for my audio all I see is the url and no player.

Hi,

I tried the audio element in my test sites and it seems to work.

This is the url of sample audio - https://www.sample-videos.com/audio/mp3/crowd-cheering.mp3

Can you confirm that you are fully updated? (Theme and Plugins)

You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.

If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

Thanks

Hey it’s when I try and look at the webpage out side of cornerstone it’s just showing the url it doesn’t have the player available.

and yes all up to date

Hi @Benjirod3,

As I checked the code, it is not correct.

It is not generated as an audio shortcode. In this case, please share us your admin credentials so we could check how you added the shortcode or the element.

Don’t forget to set it in a secure note.

Thanks.

Hello There,

Regretfully the given user credentials has a very limited privileges. Please make the user as an administrator so that we can check your settings and/or at least we will be able to edit the page to see your audio settings.

By the way, please make sure that you use the audio file format that is cross browser compatible. The recommend file format is .mp3 or .ogg. Other audio file format may not play in the browser or may require 3rd party browser plugin to be able to play the audio file. To know more which file format is supported with the different browsers, please check this out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5_audio

Hope this helps.

hey just made the admin changes

Hello There,

It turns out that your audio file is not being recognize by the browser and the audio player. Please convert your audio file from *.m4a to *.mp3.

To know how, please check this out: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-convert-m4a-files-to-mp3-format/

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank you I’ll give it a shot

You’re welcome!

hey ive tried replacing the URL with one that is a MP3 and still not working. funny thing is it was working fine and my other page still works with m4.a files if yu look at my support tab on the website they still work flawlessly. it seems you guys changed it with the recent update.

Hi @Benjirod3,

Yes it works on that page which means it’s not due to update. But the issue is, you’re adding your audio URL in the embed code. It should be switch to player instead of embed code.

And to enable that option, you must click the cog icon (gear) and go to preferences section and enable the Advanced Mode. It should bring more options for audio.

Thanks!

nice it worked! i would have never figured that out.

You’re most welcome!
