Assigning Home Page X- No options under settings>reading

Hello - I saw a thread on this but it was not helpful - none of the response helped me.

I am not able to assign the home page of my site, using X - Icon stack. When I go to settings>reading - there is no option to setup the home page.

I feel as though I have checked just about every where…

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in!

Settings > Reading > Your Homepage displays will allow you to assign the Post Page and home page. This is a WordPress default and not an X settings. X theme does not remove this settings. If you are not seeing this setting, a 3rd party plugin or a 3rd party code is removing the option from your WP installation.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Can you please follow this thread first https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/208154/option-to-set-static-front-page-disappeared-from-admin-reading-settings and see if it works for you?

If it doesn’t help then test for the following:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date including WordPress according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-version-compatibility/195. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62 for more details.

  2. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  3. Make sure you’re logged in with admin role.

  4. Check if you’ve published pages, if no page is published then make sure to publish a page to set it as Homepage.

  5. Also check out https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

Let is know how this goes!

Thank you both for your help. I will try the above options and let you know what worked/didn’t work.

Actually - I am going to assume it is because the pages are marked as draft!

Hey There,

It’s good to know that you have figured out what have happen.
If you need anything else we can help you with, don’t hesitate to open another thread.

Best Regards.

Thanks -

So yes, I just wanted to confirm (in case it helps anyone) that pages marked as “Draft” are not picked up by the “settings>reading” options, thus you won’t see the option to assign the home page, until you publish the home page. This applies also to assigning the blog.

Glad to know you fixed it!

Thanks
