Hello-- All new pages I create has a blog attached to the right side of it - I can’t figure out how to get rid of this thing

Are you referring to the post items in your sidebar? This is because you default page template has a sidebar so every time you create a page, the sidebar displays which contains the recent post items. If you want the sidebar to remain but would like to get rid of the recent post items, please go to Appearance > Widgets > Main Sidebar. You must remove the recent post widget in it. And if you want to get rid of the sidebar and would like to have a fullwidth page, you can edit the page and change the page template to “Layout - Fullwidth” page template.
