After Updating X, Cornerstone, and WP Get Strange Layout In Cornerstone

Hi,

I updated X to latest version (6.3.8), updated Cornerstone (deleted it and reinstalled), and using WP 4.98 and since updating my site doesn’t display correctly when using Cornerstone and trying to edit the home page. I now see a bunch of blocks as in the attached screenshot. I’ve tried clearing all caches, etc. Any ideas on what to do to resolve? Thank you.

Hello Joseph,

Thanks for asking.

Please try out following solutions and let us know how it goes.

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. Go to X > Settings and click on the Clear Style Cache button.
  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  5. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
  6. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  7. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.

Hey Joseph,

We’re sorry but this is a currently known issue which has no automatic fix for now. You will currently need to manually remove the columns. Please watch the screencast in the secure note to see the manual fix.

We’re very sorry for the inconvenience. I’ll add your case to the report.

Thanks.

Hi, I did as you suggested, which will remove those spaces, but when trying to edit the fields, such as adding another column and dragging in an element it does not accept that element at all. This is a big problem for us as we need to modify the layout of the theme.

Hello Joseph,

Can you please update the credentials like Username, password and Goggle Authenticator so that we can log in and investigate further?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Joseph,

I wanted to let you know that we’ve added some code that will automatically fix the malformed column layouts. This will be in the next version.
