Activate Revolution Slider

I have a regular license for X-Theme and when I click on X and look at the activated plug-ins, Slider Revolution is installed and active. When I click on the slider Revolution menu item, it is showing as not activated!

When I enter my purchase code into the Slider Revolution activation box, I am told the code is incorrect.

How can I make sure this is active?

You maybe using your own revolution slider? Because the one that comes within X theme doesn’t have a separate license. So I’m guessing you have installed your own version and this is clashing. So delete that version. Go to the admin menu click on launch and then scroll down to revolution slider. Install it and activate it

Yes, please remove the revslider you install then reinstall the rev slider in your X overview so that you will install the version of rev slider compatible with x theme.

It seems however, when it is not activated we cannot import slider templates templates into slider revolution and cannot update it.

Hi There @buchs ,

If you’re using their premium sliders, you may require a separate license for Slider Revolution. Free slider imports will work as I have tested it (https://snag.gy/6MS9kI.jpg).

“import slider” work but “add slider from template” does not work, even for free templates.

“import slider” requires you to upload but how do you download from themepunch when you are not activated?

  • You can’t use add slider from template and all the premium demo sliders because this is only available for registered and activated plugin. Since Rev Slider is bundled in X, you do not have a separate license. If you want the add slider from template, you will have to buy a separate Rev Slider to be able to activate it.

Meanwhile, since this is not available, you can make use of the import slider. You will just have to do it manually by downloading the slider from Free Slider Exchange page and import it to your WP installation.

I have the same issue. I tried to download from the free templates and it is taking me back to the ‘update manually’ page. Also, when I try to add the code, it says it is incorrect. I bought slider revolution as part of the XTheme bundle. I used your link to go to free slider templates. I clicked on a ‘free’ template and it takes me to a checkout to pay 27 usd.

As my colleagues already mentioned you can freely ignore the activating message from inside the plugin. The version of Revolution Slider that comes bundled with X offer all the functionalities as the purchased version with the only exception you cannot import sliders straight from inside the plugin, you need to access the page https://revolution.themepunch.com/free-slider-exchange/ download the template you like and import manually by clicking import slider inside the plugin.

X purchase code won´t serve to validate Revolution Slider, if you would like to have the functionality of importing directly from inside the plugin and validating the plugin so this message disappear you need to purchase the Revolution Slider separately, the do this specifically to motivate the users to purchase the plugin, but mentioned before, beside this functionality, all the other functionalities of the plugin are 100% the same as on the version bundled with X.

On https://revolution.themepunch.com/free-slider-exchange/ when you hover each slider thumbnail you will have two icons : a link icon, and a download icon. Use the link icon to visualize the demo and the download icon on the main page : https://revolution.themepunch.com/free-slider-exchange/ to download it.

The only two icons I see on the main page are ‘buy’ and ‘share’. When I hover over the thumbnail, it only says ‘free slider’. What am I getting wrong?

I’m still experiencing the problems mentioned above. I have the Slider Revolution plugin from my X theme licence. I am unable to edit existing or create new sliders. Can anybody help me?

Hi,

I checked and was able to replicate the issue in your site.

I can also see that you have 37 plugins installed and activated.

Can you try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
