Activate models direct from image click action

Good day,

I would like to implement a team bio page, similar to that here: http://dev.awsm.in/team/wp-demo/

They seem to use similar models, but their activations are far simpler and neater than currently offered via X. Is there a way to activate the models to either expand below the image, as per style 1 or style 3 on the mentioned demo page?

Currently, the only activation the X model has, is a button. I’d like it to activate from the image, along with the mouseover/hover styles on display.
