ACF Returns ID instead of Value, Throws Error when Returning Object

I have a child theme and have customized content-portfolio.php to show my ACF custom field called “amdi-device” but it returns a number instead of the text value of the field.

In ACF I have tried to switch the Return Value from Term ID to Term Object but when I do that, the page throws an error and looks like this

How can I make the page display the text value instead of the numeric ID?
