Accordion - Invalid Template Markup

Hello ThemeCo,

My company is attempting to update our grantee page (http://edforwarddc.org/strategy/grantees-2/) that’s currently using the accordion element. This is pretty easily to do typically but we recently received an error message when trying to do so. The message reads: “This element could not render due to invalid template markup. This could be due to changes introduced by a third party plugin. The front end of your site should still function normally.”

We did just upgrade several plugins on our site but I’m wondering if there is a solution to this. Is there a way to update the accordion layout with new information even after updating our plugins? How can we fix/address this error message?

Hello @edforwarddc,

Thanks for writing in! In most case, you have inserted a broken html which resulted to this issue. You may need to check the content you have inserted in each of the accordion item. For the meantime, you can use the skeleton mode to edit the page for faster response and easy access of the elements on the preview area.

If nothing is helping, would you mind providing us access to your site so that we can check your settings? Please create a secure note with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

Hello @edforwarddc,

I have logged in and edited each of your accordion items using the skeleton mode. It is loading in the preview now. I made sure that all the html contents are valid and correct in each of the accordion items.

Please check it now.

It works!! Thanks so much for your help.

You’re welcome. Glad we’re able to help.
