2.5.5 Update Crashing my Site

While trying to upgrade from 2.3.8 to 2.5.5 WordPress crashes every time I attempt the install.

Hello @BRandCompany,

Thanks for reaching out.

I suggest you to setup a staging server and test the update process over there. That way we can take a more closer look at the setup without affecting the live website. You can take a look at following resources:

Once you have staging server ready, please update Pro Theme over there and in case any issue comes up, please try out following solutions:

  1. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If itโ€™s fixed, youโ€™ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  2. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  3. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.
