We maintain these forums as a service to our customers and members. Since access is a privilege, not a right, there are a few ground rules for all participants and members. These guidelines may be updated from time to time, so please make sure you are familiar with them as your continued usage implies you have read and agree to all terms. If you can not adhere to these guidelines, you should not engage in the forums.

Good Things To Do (What's Allowed):

  • Discuss topics related to the top level forum categories including but not limited to design, development, marketing, media, hosting, and site optimization (no competing products).

  • If you are a paying customer, we invite you to use the Forum to seek assistance from our development team.

  • Give back by helping others. This community is a meritocracy - the more you give back, the more your reputation will be rewarded. There are higher membership levels you can unlock based on your engagement: threads read, threads replied to, likes given, and likes received to name a few.

  • Treat all people with respect and professionalism both publicly and privately.

Bad Things To Do (What's Not Allowed):

  • Do not participate or encourage personal attacks on any other community member or Themeco staff. If you are having an issue, please calmly explain the problem. While we encourage vigorous discussion, it must be done respectfully.

  • Do not discuss any topics outside of the categories listed on our forum including competing products (other WordPress themes) and services.

  • Do not blatantly self promote. This is a community of professionals, not a job board. No signature links are allowed, and do not link out to your site or content unless it is directly related. We will remove links if they look like self promotion or spam. On your profile you can list a short bio about who you are, what you do, and a link to your site. Only if someone explicitly asks for a recommendation can you offer your services and even then it must be done in a tactful and professional manner.

  • Do not link out to or discuss any privacy, warez, or illegal activity of any kind. In addition do not link to any content that would be deemed offensive in nature. This includes but is not limited to pornographic or racist content.

  • Do not use affiliate links when linking out to a site or resource. Links will be edited if they are found to be affiliate links.

  • Do not flame or troll any person for any reason. This will not be tolerated.

  • Do not post anything that would infringe on another person’s intellectual property rights.

  • Do not use foul language or language that may be perceived to be vulgar. Remember we have an international audience here and nuance can be lost in the written word. Please keep everything family friendly and in line with the purpose of this community.

  • Do not abuse the private messaging system. This includes sending unwanted or unsolicited messages to other community members. In certain circumstances it may be appropriate to reach out to a fellow member via private message, however if the receiving party asks you to not contact them, you are expected to honor that request. If you ignore their request, you may lose access to private messaging and in some cases access to the forums completely. Please note you must earn the ability to send private messages by achieving Level 1 status. This status will be automatically awarded based on certain engagement metrics we have set, so start contributing!

It is always our goal to work directly with you to solve any problems or misunderstandings, however in certain circumstances that is not feasible. Themeco reserves the right to remove any person or post at any time for any reason with or without warning. If you violate a guideline above or act in a way that violates the spirit of these guidelines, a Themeco staff member or moderator may take the action they deem appropriate. If you are unsure if something you are about to do or post is in violation, please contact us first.
