i followed the written documentation for google fonts at: http://themepunch.com/codecanyon/revolution_wp/documentation/#!/google_fonts

I Went to slider settings, google fonts section, pasted link from google font site into google font families to load box (want to add Lato font styles to match X’s theme).

Then went to an individual slide and then wanted to edit text in new layer (Lato not visible in Style drop down list). I believe I followed the following instruction in the Themepunch slider documentation: “To integrate the font, copy the font-family settings from Google Font page and edit a Style, open the advanced tab and put it into there. For further details look at the CSS Editor part later on.”

I am confused – does this mean that I have to pick a file from the Style list and then edit that style as opposed to seeing an entirely new font name (e.g. Lato) in the list of available styles?

When I try to use the simple editor (not even using the google fonts) to modify one of the existing style options for text, I do not see the changes I manually adjusted for font weight, size, etc when I preview the slide even after updating following those changes.

There are many generic online tutorials for use of google fonts but they apply to editing style sheets in themes but in the case of revolution slider for ultimate X the only main resource is the online document i have read many times but still remain confused – i have no code writing experience. Themepunch only provides direct support for those who bought the slider directly from them as a stand alone and does not offer support to those who acquired it bundled (as with ultimate X) and defers to them for support.

any help is greatly appreciated – thx in advance for getting the fonts on my slider to match my site.

Hi Mitch,

Thank you for writing in! By default, google font added on slider settings will not be listed automatically at font dropdown. You will need to add them manually on “Family” input field (simple), or your could edit css in advance mode. Then save as new style with new name, you can just re-use it(new saved style will be at dropdown list)

Hope this helps.

I have the same issue and have tried everything to be able to use a Google font on the slider. I appear to have been able to add the font as I can select it in the customiser (for headers etc) but just cannot get it to work on the revolution slider.

Are there a clear set of instructions anywhere both for importing the punch fonts and changing / selecting fonts when editing the slider?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for posting in!

Please provide us the URL of your website and the page you have added the slider. Regarding the instructions, you can review Revolution Slider documentation to use Punch Fonts to add Google fonts in your website.

After adding the desired font in your website using Punch Fonts, you can simply add it manually in your layer styles (see: http://prntscr.com/5ar8ra).

Cheers!

Hi, thanks a lot for your reply. I really have tried everything. The trouble is the Slider Revolution documentation appears to be old and uses a different method for importing the font, so I have no idea if I am doing it the correct way.

Site is paulgiblin.co.uk. I’m really just trying to use a font like “Shadows into light” on the slider slide with a quote.

Any help appreciated.

Hi Paultato,

Upon checking, I’m unable to find any slider in your website as it’s showing blog posts in the homepage. Would you mind providing us the URL of the page where you’ve added the slider? Also please share your WordPress credentials so that we can take a closer look to the issue.

Please don’t forget to select Set as private reply to ensure your data remains hidden from other users.

Thanks!

Hi Paul,

Upon checking, it seems you added the fonts in punch fonts incorrectly (see: http://prntscr.com/5c5zt3), that’s the reason of these issues. As mentioned in the Punch Fonts page:

Copy the Google Font Family from http://www.google.com/fonts like: Open+Sans:400,700,600

That means, you only need to grab this Open+Sans:400,700,600 part from the Google font’s URL. So for example, if the URL is (see: http://prntscr.com/5c5zdf):

http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto:400italic,300italic,400

So you just need to take the part after ?family=, so it will be:

Roboto:400italic,300italic,400

Thanks!

Hi Alenthe,

Thanks for writing in!

You have to manually insert Google font name after adding it in your site. You can find the name in Google fonts page, for example: http://prntscr.com/9439ay and insert it in your Revolution Slider layer font family setting (see: http://prntscr.com/943dlv).

Thank you!
