Hello – is there a way to have .flv files work with the video player? I have searched the forum but did not find any threads anything related to this. Currently my code looks like this:

[x_video_player m4v="http://test.com/folder/video.flv" poster="http://test.com/folder/image-poster.jpg" autoplay="false" no_container="true" loop="true"]

The video frame shows up in the blog post but the video does not play.

Thanks for your time

Hey Jonathan,

You’ll need to convert your video to supported formats (ogv and mp4).

Thanks.

Hey support –

I’m still running into the problem of not being able to play .flv files in the video player. Going through the process of converting each video to mp4 will be a lot of trouble (I also don’t have the appropriate converter). Is there any way that the player can be tweaked to play .flv? Otherwise, that may be something to consider for future updates to the x-theme.

Thanks!

Hi Jon,

FLV videos do not work in Apple or Mobile devices, so I’m afraid we don’t have planning FLV video support in our theme.

Another way you can use FLV videos in your site would be using a FLV player plugin, e.g: https://wordpress.org/plugins/hana-flv-player/ https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-flash-player/ https://wordpress.org/plugins/cool-video-gallery/ & then using their shortcodes into your site post or pages.

Hope this helps, Cheers!
