Hello X,
I am having an issue pulling meta tag information when sharing on Facebook and Google+
It seems to be pulling the first part of the visual composer code and not the meta tag description. I currently have the Yoast SEO plugin install and active to try and overwrite the issue. Using the Yoast SEO plugin has overwritten the Title but not the Meta Description. I still see part of the visual composer code as the meta description when adding a link to share on Facebook and Google+ (mostly Facebook) (See image link).
Please note this problem occurs with or without the Yoast SEO plugin for the meta description. Yoast only fixes the Title issue. When not using Yoast I still get the meta tag description issue and the post title reverts to the text ‘home’

So I would like to know if this is an X theme issue, a Visual Composer issue or a Facebook issue? How can I fix this?

Hi there,

It’s issue with open graph. Since you’re using old version of X theme, then that bug still exists. You can turn off your opengraph at Admin > Appearance > Customizer > Social > Opengraph.

It can be cause by 3rd party plugin that utilize opengraph, so you may need to disable them.

Once you’re done, please clear/purge your caches if you have a caching plugin installed. Then go to facebook debug tool ( https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ ) and add your site’s url that having opengraph issue. Then click fetch new information (you will have to repeat multiple times until it clears its own facebook cache).

Hope this helps.
