Hello everyone! As we are underway with our next development cycle, we wanted to remind everyone that our focus will be on legacy bug fixes and usability improvements. More specifically:
1) FIX ALL THE BUGS
We're systematically working through our issue tracker hoping to address all the bugs we are aware of. We do not have a public listing of confirmed bugs, so if you are wondering about a particular issue please take it up with the team in the support forum so they can make sure it is represented.
2) STICKY BAR IMPROVEMENTS
There are a handful of issues we've observed with sticky bars that we will be correcting.
3) ONE PAGE NAVIGATION IN PRO
This includes "Active link" styles and one page navigation for V2 navigation Elements.
4) INTEGRATION WITH YOAST FOR V2 ELEMENTS
There are no SEO disadvantages to V2 Elements, but at the moment the text isn't accessible by Yoast's content analyzer.
5) FRONT END PERFORMANCE
6) BACK END PERFORMANCE
The builders initial load time will be reduced. There are a few places that have gotten a bit heavy with all the feature development we've been doing so we'll be exploring ways to optimize.
7) ADVANCED MODE
Don't worry, we're not making anything more complicated. Some users have felt like Elements have too many controls. We're going to make the current element controls "Advanced Mode" and create a simpler set of controls that will be present when advanced mode is off. In Pro this will be turned on by default. By making a less complicated way to interact with the new Elements we get closer to the feeling of simplicity that the Classic Elements offer, but with all the power of V2 Element styling under the hood.
We're hoping to have this together for an April release, but keep in mind this is our best estimate at this time and is subject to change. There are a few other things not on this list, but in general this cycle is focused on improving what we have already built rather than building new things. We'll be posting progress reports along the way!
